"I was morbidly obese when I came to Darla.  I had not worked out for about 15 years and had swollen ankles, heart palpitations, heart burn, couldn't sleep and had no energy. When I first met Darla and saw the TRX I thought there is no way I can do this! I was very nervous! I was put at ease right away by Darla and the other people in the small group training class. Everyone was so nice and encouraging! Modifications are always offered, which is so important at first when you are learning. I would not have been able to get fit and continue to get stronger and run in two Spartan races had I not found Darla!"  Tami M.

“Years ago I belonged to the Fullerton YMCA and started going to one of the best group classes that they offered, and the teacher was Darla.  The class was a full body sculpting class held every Tuesday and Thursday. I started attending the class and loved it . The class was so popular that people would come early to get a spot.   I have had such a positive experience since working with Darla.  I have to thank her for encouraging me to even attempt a Figure competition, especially at my age.  I could never have done as well as I did without Darla’s eating and exercise plan, as well as her kind and constant support.    I have worked out much of my adult life, so I am relatively fit but Darla has helped me not only with fitness but with sculpting my body like never before.  I would tell someone asking me about starting a fitness journey to GO FOR IT and Darla is the one to help.” Janice A

When I first came to Darla,  I was in pretty bad shape.  I had excessive body fat and various health issues requiring medication along with some physical injuries. I believed that I couldn’t exercise because of these issues and that I needed to take it easy and just watch what I eat. Well that way of thinking was not working and I was in serious trouble health wise. I realized a change was needed to be made or serious consequences were sure to follow, so I started working on my nutrition and began a consistent workout routine with Darla.  It was very tough at first. I was extremely sore and my injuries were acting up, so there were times I wasn’t sure if I could get out of bed the next day. Darla helped me  work around the problems I was having and as I lost body fat and built muscle, I was able to do more and more all the time. Darla helped me make a lifestyle change toward being on a fitness journey seeking better health, more strength and just feeling overall better. This lifestyle change saved me from some life threatening circumstances and it’s something that I cannot ever give up on. Since there is no finish line to fitness, Darla has helped me  be consistent and to continue to pursue my fitness goals."

In Spring of 2013 I came to Darla at Total Body Health Center and signed up for her 6 week Spring Fat Loss Challenge.  My goal was to lose some weight and get back into shape.  In that 6 week period I began training with Darla in her Small Group Fitness classes and improved my eating habits.  I not only won the 6 week challenge by losing the highest percentage of body fat but I found myself getting stronger.  I continued attending the Group Training Classes 3 days a week and within 5 months of hard work, expert guidance and good friends to encourage me to go far beyond what I was capable of doing, I dropped 11.7% Body Fat and went from 220 lbs down to 191 lbs. In addition, I completed my first Spartan Race in Dec of 2014 and ran the Surf City Half Marathon in Feb of 2015.  If a 70 year old man can get these results, anyone can with the help of a qualified physical trainer like Darla!   Bob A

I first came to Darla's TRX Class on April 30th, 2012. At first I thought, "there is no way I can do that!!" I was 68 years old at the time. That was three years ago! I love my classes with Darla and the TRX and other crazy stuff she works into our hourly classes. She does a great job of encouraging all of her students. All shapes and sizes and all different capabilities. I walk away from each class thinking ,"I just did that"! It helps every part of my body. My bones and muscles, my stamina and strength, my mind and soul!! It helps to have Darla, who is an amazing trainer, watching us do everything correctly to minimize injuries. I have grown stronger than I've ever been. There is no other place I would rather be 2 times a week!  Lanny A
